Tripsy Gypsy

COLLECTION 2 2014

Romance Was Born offers another collection that comes from the heart -Tripsy Gypsy is inspired by their recent brightly coloured whirlwind trip to India. The trip left impressions that a tourist often feels, a sense of strange otherness mixed with flashes of the familiar squished through a wonderful and completely foreign filter. Like snapshots from a tourist's camera, floral wave prints melt into a warped floral mess, Ohms trippily invade prism shields and peacock feathers collide with stars while an eagle deity watches the cosmic serenity from above. Mantras and rituals of the old holy land are given a fun modern twist with the hero slogan Ohm My God sweatshirts, which give a shout out for spirituality. Tripsy Gypsy resonates with the carefree spirit of the hippie trail. When adventure hungry children of the west ventured on a pilgrimage east stretching across borders searching for anything to enlighten and broaden the spirit and mind. A chance discovery on Romance Was Born's travels was the artwork of Pakistani painter Haider Ali who exhibited his beautiful trucks of peace in India while they were there. His trucks are ornately covered all over in hand painted florals and serene scenes to promote harmony oneness and joy. Haider's peace truck art forms the backdrop for Tripsy Gypsy along with other snippets of India joy from Romance Was Born's trip
