Sun kissed summer days filled with sea breeze dreams, lazy afternoons recovering from the day at the beach and watching Round the Twist, while spooning into a peach melba.
This season Romance Was Born imagine a long summer spent up the coast at Nan’s 1950’s fibro Beach Shack – Fantasy Glades. Picture a range inspired by Nan’s beach bungalow full of collected ornaments; like pink and green lustre vases filled with sweet smelling lilies, cheerful Majolica decorative serving ware, quaint tea sets, ornate trifle bowls and jelly moulds. A linen cupboard full of vintage tea towels, pinny’s and table cloths embroidered with cute animals and dainty florals. Beach treasures are scattered about the place, salvaged driftwood, coral and shells combed from walks along the beach.
Fantasy Glades transforms these nostalgic coastal elements from “Nan’s Shack” or as Romance Was Born fondly refer to it, the “Love Shack” and turn them into a collection made for an Australian summer. Romance Was Born have collaborated with artist Glenn Barkley, his ceramic medallions are a special highlight. With their predominantly blue green glaze, they appear as a glistening oceanic jumble that feature Australiana, cameos, ancient Grecian busts, religious icons and organic forms and fragments resembling shells, bits of driftwood and coral. Barkley’s ceramic pieces are used as beautiful handmade buttons or are scattered across garments in a lavish wanton array. They are also turned into beautiful accessories, strung into necklaces, belts and earrings.
Fantasy Glades Resort 2021 is opportune for Romance Was Born to deliver a carefree and practical way of dressing; their looks are easily constructed around a statement dress or two-piece. RWB know that when the heat is on, these garments will be worn over a bathing suit and ultimately there needn’t be a compromise for style over comfort. Romance Was Born give you Fantasy Glades, a range full of laissez-faire chic, to see you through your summer be that on the streets, in the bush or at the beach. From the Greek Islands, to the steamy streets of Paris or the steep cliffs of Cinque Terra to the soft sands of Mollymook.
